Meet The Members!

At MUSICMAKERS we are our own sound engineers and producers, as well as performers. We aren't constrained by large record companies determining what and when we should play.

Christopher Sibley

Vocalist CHRISTOPHER SIBLEY has a Sinatra-style voice.

He joined us after finding fame in the television series Stars in their Eyes where he performed as Jack Jones. He's now left the film industry and has been singing professionally with the Syd Lawrence Orchestra.

Alice Redmond

Vocalist ALICE REDMOND is a new voice from The Royal Academy of Music in London.

A gifted singer who also graduated in performing arts at Middlesex University, She has sung at the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Salzburg Festival in Austria, cabaret at the Café Royal, with the MSJ Jazz Trio and the soul band Midnight Blue.

When Alice Redmond was studying at Music College she agreed to sing for Musicmakers and this resulted in her album "Feel Like Makin' Love" This was the first time Garry Lloyd and Ron Dawes had heard their original compositions performed.
Alice is now singing professionally and you can hear her performing currently in "Cats" and on a Night Club Session by clicking the panels below:

Musicmakers wish Alice every success in her professional singing career.

Ron Dawes

Composer and keyboards player RON DAWES was marketing director of an international bank, on both sides of the Atlantic.

But he doesn't fit the stereotype of a banker. He's performed in bands for many years, with people like Dick Morrissey, Vic Ash and Bill le Sage.

Julian Cox

Bassist JULIAN COX, graduated from the Royal Academy with first class honours.

He took up the electric bass, and double bass, in his teens, performs with the Boogie Nights band and the MSJ Jazz Trio in London's West End.

He has played with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, with Antibop - named Young Jazz Band of the Year - toured in Israel and is now composing music for bands.

Garry Lloyd

Lyricist GARRY LLOYD is a network television newsman turned songsmith, with a lifelong interest in jazz.

His parents were both professional opera singers - his mother, at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, and his father with Sadlers Wells, later the English National Opera.

He was taught piano by Richard Cardwell, keyboards player for Vanessa Mae, Geri Halliwell, the Lighthouse Family and Craig David.

Wilma Kniep

Vocalist WILMA KNIEP is originally from Holland but now lives in the UK.

Wilma has sung with the Dutch Radio Big Band as well as well known jazz musicians like Toots Thielmans. She teams up on her debut album with Ron Dawes (piano) and Derek Phillips (guitar) singing well known standards.


Our music is played on a Yamaha Gl grand piano, and Yamaha master keyboard DX7S, Korg X5DR, Roland RB5, Roland U220 and Alesis synthesisers. Recording is on to an Aiwa DAT XD-S260 and a Kenwood DMF 3020 Mini Disc recorder using AKG and Superscope microphones with effects added from a Zoom Studio 1204. Mixing is through a Behringer Eurorack MS 1602. Sound Forge and Creator software is used to transfer recordings to CD.
